Celebrate Canada Day in Niagara Falls!

The Niagara Falls Canada Day Celebration has been recognized as one of the Top 100 Festivals and Events in Ontario. The spectacular parade, free children’s zone activities, car show, Coca Cola Concert Series and delightful fireworks in Queen Victoria Park make this event stand out from other Canada Day celebrations across the province. Stay at the Holiday Inn Fallsview and be close to the action as the city marks the 50th anniversary of the Canadian Flag with special activities planned for the entire family.

Families staying at the Holiday Inn Fallsview can take advantage of free on-site parking and not have to worry about parade logistics. The Canada Day parade takes place from 11 a.m. to 12:20 p.m., starting at Victoria Street and ending at St. Clair Avenue. The Parade this year will feature special Pan Am and Para Pan Am torchbearers. Cheer them on and wave your Canadian flags as the country gears up for the Pan Am Games.

From 10 a.m. – 10 p.m. guests will enjoy family-oriented Canada Day activities throughout downtown and at various venues on Queen Street. Don’t miss the free Canada Day cake which is served at noon. Other must-see free events include face painting, the inflatable zone and kids games and rides. Adults will also enjoy the Carmel fine art show which is set up along Ontario Avenue.

If you’ve got young children then you’ll want to make your way to the Scotiabank Children’s Stage which is situated at the Rosberg Family Park (Queen and Erie Street). Babies and toddlers will love the Baby Boogie Family Dance Party and your school aged children will enjoy seeing and meeting Cinderella and Princess Elsa — don’t forget your camera so you can take advantage of the free photo opportunities! Your young children will also love meeting and learning about reptiles and participating in science experiments at the Reptile Kingdom and Mad Science shows, which are just a few of the many children’s shows, games, and demonstrations taking place throughout the city.
People come from across Ontario to revel in the past at the Canada Day Car Show, where automobile enthusiasts show off their collectible and antique cars to the public. Entry is free and the afternoon event runs from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. along Queen Street from Victoria to Crysler Avenue.

Music lovers will enjoy the various Fallsview concerts located across the city including at the main stage which will feature high-energy shows by Abbamania, Thriller, Roger Ortega and Matt Wells, to name just a few of the many musical acts.

Into sports? Don’t miss the Slam Dunk Basketball Shows, Little Kickers and the Niagara Regional Street Hockey – all centered around Queen Street. Prefer extreme sports? Get ready to be amazed watching the Krusher BMX Stunt Team, extreme dance and antigravity skateboard demos.
